Wow, time flies! Next week my baby will turn 5! I searched and search for this side by side comparison. When I took the photo on the right this morning, I knew I had taken something similar in the past. It was fun going through all of those old photos and amazing how much has changed over the years.

I got this lens on my 30th b-day from a local shop and it tranformed photography for me. This “vintage” 50mm 1.4 was a great lens but had it’s limitations. I had to shoot in manual mode (which I still do) and manual focus (which I don’t normally do) to be able to take photos with it. It was a great learning experience and a lot of fun but a also a major challenge for someone just getting into photography. It’s fun to think back to that summer. When I went upstairs to take pictures of my cat, somehow I just knew that I’d find him in a situation that would qualify as being “cozy”.
